Dr Richa Gupta is the Founder Director and senior consultant, anterior Segment and Glaucoma at Netram Eye Care. She completed her MS ophthalmology with distinction (gold medal) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Karnataka in 2011. She got trained for Phacoemulsification at ICare, Noida in 2011, and thereafter pursued long-term fellowship in anterior segment and glaucoma from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai from 2012- 2014. She was a consultant at Dr Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi from 2014 – 2015. Subsequently, she joined C. L. Gupta Eye Institute, Moradabad, where she served as a Senior Consultant in Glaucoma and anterior segment from 2015 – 2021, and pioneered the use of Ahmed Glaucoma Implants in the area. She was also the Director, Department of Education at the Institute.
Dr Gupta has been awarded Fellowship- International Council Ophthalmology (FICO), UK; Fellowship- All India Collegium of Ophthalmology (FAICO) in Glaucoma and phaco/ cataract and Membership- Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS, Edinburg). She has published multiple research articles in various national and international journals and has actively participated at various national and international conference as faculty. She has also received RULA award for “Best researcher 2020”.
Her fields of interest are- topical phacoemulsification, glaucoma valved implants, paediatric glaucoma management and various complicated cataract and glaucoma surgeries.
Dr Gupta is also an avid traveller, painter and classical dancer (BA Kathak).
